I would like to take my "pathos
and irony" project a step further, as a next stage by looking
at society after industrialization/after gaining economic power. I
would like my theme to correspond with ideas of a life cycle, or sequence
and provoke the question of whether we can really say that society
is evolving or advancing after industrialization or what is sometimes
referred to as modernization. The reason I say next stage is because
I think the "development" of society can be a metaphor of
the stages of life, from infancy to old age. Also, I would like my
work to have theatricals elements, as if they are part of a story.
This is why I use the word stage.
This series is an extension of my "pathos and irony" project
because underlying my photographs are also the feelings of isolation,
loneliness, and emptiness that I feel go along with the advancement
of modern society.
